HOW WE READ A COIN

Every number, and where it comes from.

Drop’s reader looks at what the chain shows about a pump.fun coin and turns it into flags with numbers. This page is the whole rulebook: what each flag means, the exact line it’s drawn at, and what it can’t tell you.

Where the data comes from

SourceWhat it gives
PumpPortal’s public feedEvery new pump.fun coin the moment it’s created: its address, name, ticker, the wallet that created it, and what that wallet bought in the create. (Coin pictures come from pump.fun’s own picture server.)
Solana itself (RPC)The create’s block and the next two blocks (who bought, how much, who funded them), every wallet’s balance, the bonding curve, the mint and freeze settings.
DexScreenerPrice, market cap, volume, buys and sells.
RugCheckHolder count, the top 10 share, and wallets it links into insider networks.
Drop’s launch recordEvery pump.fun launch since 17 Oct 2026: which wallet launched it and whether it graduated. It grows every day.

Drop’s reader runs on our own small server. It only reads: it never trades, never signs, holds no keys to money, and needs no wallet from you.

When a coin is read

  • Every coin, at once: the dev’s buy (from the create itself) and the dev’s record (from the launch record), the second the coin appears.
  • Coins with traction: the full read runs by itself once a coin passes $8,000 market cap or 25 buys in an hour, within its first 3 hours.
  • Any coin you open: the full read starts the moment you open it, first in line. Most take under a second if they’ve been read; a fresh launch block takes a few seconds.

The nine checks

Bundle 31%

Bundle

Wallets other than the dev whose buys landed in the same block as the create. Shown as their share of the 1 billion supply. Strangers almost never land in the creation block by chance; it usually takes a bundle sent together with the create.

1% to 5% note · 5% to 15% warning · 15% or more risk

Snipers 7

Snipers

Wallets that bought in the next two blocks after the create (under a second), and how much they took.

3+ wallets or 5%+ warning · 8+ wallets or 15%+ risk

Dev-funded buyers 3

Dev-funded buyers

Early buyers whose SOL came from the dev wallet, or from the wallet that funded the dev. One person buying from several wallets to look like a crowd.

any risk

Dev sold 60%

Dev sold

The dev wallet’s balance of the coin, watched live (a subscription to its token account, with a regular check as a backup). Measured against the most the dev ever held, so buying more and selling it later still counts.

10% to 50% trimmed, warning · 50% or more sold, risk · alerts at 10%, 50% and 95%

The dev is the wallet that signed the create and made the first buy. Some launch platforms put their own program address in a coin’s “creator” field; Drop follows the signing wallet instead.

Big dev buy 12%

Big dev buy

What the dev bought in the create itself, as a share of the supply. A big dev bag is a big seller later.

8% to 15% warning · 15% or more risk

Bundle sold 90%

Bundle sold

The launch-block wallets have sold most of what they got. Only flagged when the bundle held a real share; a 2% bundle taking profit is ordinary.

bundle 5% to 15% warning · bundle 15%+ risk

Serial dev 194

Dev record

Every coin this wallet launched since 17 Oct 2026: how many graduated, how many died (6 hours without graduating), how many are still young, and how many in the last 24 hours.

5+ coins, none graduated serial dev, risk · 1 in 5 graduated track record

Top 10 hold 41%

Top 10 holders

What the ten biggest wallets hold, with the bonding curve and pools left out.

35% to 50% warning · 50% or more risk

Mint open yes

Mint and freeze

Whether more of the coin can still be made (mint authority), or holders’ wallets frozen (freeze authority). pump.fun coins have both closed; a coin with either open isn’t a normal pump.fun coin.

either open risk

Clean, mixed, risky

Clean readThe launch block was read and nothing reached a warning: no bundle, few snipers, no dev-funded buyers, and the dev still holds.
MixedWarnings, but nothing at the risk line.
RiskyAt least one flag at the risk line. The panel says which one first.
Partly readThe launch block couldn’t be read (the free Solana endpoint was busy). The other checks still show.

How alerts work

Star a coin and allow alerts once. Your browser gives us a push address from its own push service (Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft). We keep that address and the coins you starred, nothing else: no name, no email, no wallet. When the dev’s bag of a starred coin drops past 10%, 50% or 95%, the reader sends one alert, encrypted for your browser only. Each coin is watched for 14 days; up to 50 coins at a time.

Turn alerts off in the terminal (the bell), or in your browser’s site settings. A push address that stops working is deleted.

What it can’t tell you

  • A clean read isn’t a safe coin. Most pump.fun coins go to zero, clean or not. This is a read, not advice.
  • “Sold or moved”. A dev selling and a dev sending coins to another wallet both drop the bag. The transaction tells you which.
  • Fresh wallets hide. A dev can buy from wallets with no link back to them. Drop shows the links the chain shows, and no more.
  • The record is young. Dev history starts on 17 Oct 2026. “First coin” means the first one since then.
  • pump.fun only. Coins from other launchpads aren’t read.
